James Murray, woodworker
What began as a hobby of making furniture for his grandchildren turned into a business that
James Murray has had for 20 years.
Hailing from Springvale, Maine, his furniture is made from Maine’s vast resource of
hardwoods. Using mostly rough cut, air dried lumber with an emphasis on red and white oak,
maple, cherry, and walnut from local mills James hand selects each cut of wood for each
project. By doing his own milling he can choose the wood that is best suited for each piece of
furniture he makes.
His designs are numerous and customers may select one of them to grace their homes but
James is also willing to work with customers to bring their ideas to reality.
